Clinical leadership
Providing clinical leadership for hospices and their staff is a core part of the work we do as the national charity for hospice care.
Strong clinical leadership is a key component of ensuring people have a positive experience of care.
We must therefore build and support leaders, working at all levels, within our care structure; to enable them to be effective, resourceful and resilient.
We aim to support leaders in a range of ways for example, providing topical training and education events, and by facilitating clinically focused networks.
#Nurses2020 - The Year of the Nurse and the Midwife
2020 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale, and the World Health Organisation is commemorating the year by making this the Year of the Nurse and the Midwife.
Hospice nursing has a massive impact in ensuring more than 225,000 people get the hospice, palliative and end of life care that they need every year, and we have produced a series of videos, which will grow through the year, from hospice nurses telling us why they think their role has a 'Wow Factor' - starting with Gill Horne from Rowcroft Hospice.
