Call for papers

Contribute to this year’s conference by displaying a poster or giving an oral presentation.

Delegates looking at the posters on display

NOTE: The deadline for our call for papers has now passed. Many thanks to all of you who submitted an abstract. We’ll let you know whether your abstract has been accepted in the week beginning 19 July.

Hospice UK’s conference is our flagship event, bringing together everyone involved in leading hospice, palliative and end of life care for adults, children and young people.

We look forward to welcoming attendees who are new to these care settings as well as those with many years’ expertise.

Our three-day conference provides a unique forum to discuss current and forthcoming issues and to discover new thinking.

The conference is packed with stimulating plenary and parallel sessions, and opportunities to network with peers and to meet major providers of services and products. It combines high level strategic thinking, application into practice and lessons from real world examples.

If you would like to display a poster at conference or give a short talk about any aspect of your work, you should submit an abstract.

We were keen to receive abstracts from colleagues working in:

  • hospice, palliative and end of life care in the voluntary sector,
  • NHS and other sectors and stakeholders e.g. care home sector,
  • academia and across the full range of roles, including clinicians,
  • educationalists, fundraisers, marketers, managers, social workers, trustees and volunteers.

With themes covering resourcing palliative care, the palliative care workforce, transformation; inequalities of access and mental health and wellbeing, we’d like to hear about work that has recently been completed this year or that is in progress; this may include:

  • audit, quality improvement or service improvement initiatives,
  • research or other topics in relation to changing the landscape in end of life care.

Please note that we cannot accept work that has been presented or published elsewhere.

  • The deadline for submitting an abstract is 5pm on Monday 21 June 2021. Please note that, in contrast to prior years, there will be no extension of the closing date.
  • During the week beginning 19 July, we’ll let you know whether your abstract has been accepted.
